Maureen O’Hara dies – Washington Post

The actress Maureen O’Hara, Irish beauty who appeared in classic films like The Quiet Man and How Green Was My Valley , Dies at 95 years .

His manager, Johnny Nicoletti, said that O’Hara died Saturday while slept in their home in Boise, Idaho .

O’Hara came to Hollywood to star in the 1939 film The Hunchback of Notre Dame and continued with a long career on the big screen.

How green was my valley or How Green Was My Valley , a poignant 1941 drama about a mining family in Wales, won five Oscars , including Best Picture.

She became the first favorite actress of John Wayne, appearing with him in The quiet man or The Quiet Man and other films. He starred as the girl’s mother Natalie Wood in the Christmas classic Miracle on 34th Street .

He is survived by a daughter in Ireland.
