The Sitges Festival opens its doors from 9 to 18 October – Blasting News

The International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia is one of the most prestigious in the world. Every year thousands of People congregate in the Catalan town of Sitges to see the main innovations of fantasy and terror and enjoy the many activities offered by the competition. As reported in the official website of the Festival, “programming Sitges 2015 movies comes packed with renowned authors of fantasy and horror universe, along with emerging talents”. Cinema, events, cultural activities and new spaces may be found in this new edition from 9 to 18 October.

For ten days Sitges becomes a global showcase of the best of the film industry and its streets are filled with talent and glamor. Each year pass through the city biggest names in film as Antonio Banderas, Pablo Helman, Elijah Wood, Quentin Tarantino and this year will be less, the red carpet will spend personalities such as Oliver Stone, Takashi Miike, Rossana Yanni or Santiago Segura and Jamume Balagueró, among many others.

The proposal of this film 48th is the most international but note the presence of six Spanish productions that have already given much to talk about. The body of Ana Fritz (for Hector Hernandez) is according to organizers of the festival “one of the most intense and provocative films of late Spanish”; Vulcania (Joseph Skaf) is a dystopian tale that will not leave anyone indifferent; Origin Segon (Carles Porta) is an adaptation of the great classic of Manuel de Pedrolo and the last project that started late Bigas Luna; Summer Camp (Alberto Marini) is the debut director, a violent film based on the game of cat and mouse; The bride (Paula Oritz) is based on the words of Federico García Lorca and becomes a visual ecstasy and Sacramento (Carlos Cañeque) that parodies the relationship between religion and madness.

One of the great innovations of this edition is the creation of the official app Festival. The application for iOS and Android , is available in Castilian, Catalan and English and allows users to keep abreast of the latest developments, tickets from your mobile or search locating projections, among other things.

So far in the Festival there was no place where the most prominent guests from the film industry and its fans could meet. This year, the Casa Bacardi will open its doors during the two weekends that lasts the event. The “After Horror Lounge” is designed as a space in which to discuss the films after the sessions, enjoy the best cocktails and a good mojito, a daiquiri or a drink made especially for the Festival . “A terrifying space sure to thrill fans of horror movies,” say its creators.
