New developments premiere ‘Star Wars’ during NFL game – The Herald

The NFL matchup between the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles stayed in the background in the sports day on Monday by the advance of the new film “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” during halftime of the match . Shortly after it was posted on the internet.

The video 2:35 minutes long offered a look at the stories of the new additions to the series, as Finn, an imperial soldier played by John Boyega is questioned their loyalty. Have you seen King, played by Daisy Ridley, exploring an old ship and the KYLo Ren Adam Driver obsessed with Darth Vader.

“The Force Awakens” takes place 30 years after “Return of the Jedi” but the plot of the film directed by JJ Abrams has remained shrouded in secrecy. This latest development gives few clues about what might have happened in those three decades. The events of the original trilogy, for example, seem to have become a myth for the younger generation. Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Finn tells King that “… all true.”

The trailer also shows for the first time Carrie Fisher, who reprises his role as Princess Leia. Luke Skywalker, played by Mark Hamill again, has not been allowed to see the full progress in any of the tape and is suspiciously outside the official poster.

The publication of clips and advances of the new delivery the series have become events in themselves. “The Force Awakens” is one of the most anticipated films of the year. The last was released in April at an event with fans in Anaheim, California, and has more than 64 million views on YouTube to date.

This latest advance was at least partly an experiment in corporate synergies . “Monday Night Football” is broadcast on ESPN, which, as Lucasfilm, part of The Walt Disney Company. Many fans of “Star Wars” that are not necessarily football fans tuned in the match for the trailer.

Tickets for the film, which opens on December 18, would presumably go on sale immediately after issuance of the advance, but eventually they could be purchased before Monday. Ticketing sites online as Fandango demand fell to

Disney, which acquired Lucasfilm in 2012, has been limited in its strategically official promotion of “The Force Awakens.” – The first part of a new trilogy. Rian Johnson, responsible for “Looper,” directed the episode VIII to be released in May 2017 and Colin Trevorrow, of “Jurassic World’s”, will take care of Episode IX planned for 2019.

Lucasfilm is also working on a number of spinoff films set in the world of “Star Wars” as “Rogue One,” on the rebels who steal the plans for the Death Star, which can be seen in December 2016.

But for now, all eyes are on “The Force Awakens”, which is expected to be one of the most successful films of all time.
