Asterix confronted the world of information in “Papyrus Caesar” – Terra Argentina

Asterix, the Gaul whose famous 36th album “The papyrus Caesar” will be released worldwide on October 22, it will confront the world of information, forward cartoon authors.

The cover, the names of some characters and the overall theme -in the very modern- looking “information circuits” are some of the few revelations headed in a press release from the publisher Albert -René, determined to keep the suspense until the last moment.

“We reserve the surprise of the new Asterix readers,” said Isabelle Magnac, head of the publishing house.

Four million copies of the new Asterix adventure come together at bookstores, of which two million French and the rest in 20 languages ​​and dialects, including Spanish and Portuguese. From Brazil to India, through the US, the launch will be a global event on 22 October.

Asterix “is the best selling and most widely read comic” of the world, said the editor.

Since the creation of the rebellious Gallic 56 years ago by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo they have sold a total of 365 million cartoon albums.

The current authors Didier Conrad (drawings) and Jean-Yves Ferri (script) from “The Papyrus Caesar”, which already collaborated in the previous volume, “Asterix and the Picts” published in 2013, created to this new occasion eight new characters.

Among them, a Frenchman reporter is inspired by the founder of WikiLeaks Julian Assange.

The album begins with a public reading of a diary, from which all that matters is the Gallic horoscope.

Anne Goscinny, daughter of René Goscinny died in 1977 and Albert Uderzo, 88, welcomed the work of the two artists.

“It’s great, I take my hat. Bravo gentlemen,” said Albert Uderzo, who admitted Didier Conrad often ask for advice.
