‘Manchester by the Sea’ shows the cry restless of a tragic past – The Nation Costa Rica

The film, nominated six times at the Oscars, placed the guilt at the centre of its plot. The script is profound and heartbreaking.

As well as portraying Manchester by the Sea –a film with six Oscar nominations which opens tomorrow in cinemas costa rican–, the past stormy tend not to feel comfortable in the oblivion.

In the moments least expected to become an uncomfortable present and as if it were a soul that seeks to be released scream outrageously to the conscience.

In the new film –directed and written by Kenneth Lonergan–, the ghosts of the past wake up to Lee Chandler (Casey Affleck), a plumber’s quiet and introverted survive with the bare minimum in the city of Boston.

The life of Chandler runs normal until one day it surprises you a story: his older brother has died and is designated as the legal guardian of his nephew of 16 years, Patrick (Lucas Hedges).

This, as is logical, will completely change the life.

"In principle, Lee and Randi have a connection feisty, sexy, sexual, alive, and chaotic, which to me seems incredibly real," said William to The Wrap.

In summary, the tragedy marks the memories and experiences of a Chandler overwhelmed and now with little chance of escape once again from his past.

"When I read the script, I felt that I had a strange effect on me. Despite the fact that I’ve never been anything close to what Chandler goes, I took on the challenge of thinking about how human guilt can serve to overcome mistakes of the past. I saw myself in her,"he recalled Affleck in an interview with Deadline.
