The famous couple formed by the late former Beatle John Lennon and artist Yoko Ono will come to the big screen in a film project that will be based on the milestones of their romantic relationship during the year 70, until the death of the singer in 1980.

According to the specialized site Deadline, screenwriter Oscar-nominated Anthony McCarten will be in charge of writing the tape. The new zealander had two nominations at the Academy awards in 2015, after writing and producing the film “The theory of everything”.

“The story will focus on mature and relevant themes such as love, courage, and activism in the united States, with the intention of inspiring today’s youth to defend themselves and have a clear vision of the world that they want,” said producer Michael De Luca (“the social Network”, “Captain Phillips”), who will work on the project. It will be added also as a producer the same Yoko Ono.

The tape will tell the life of the couple during the year 70 in their quality of celebrities, which will include the departure of Lennon of The Beatles, his musical work as a whole and the murder of an interpreter in New York city in 1980.
