The South Korean singer Psy prepares his first album since “Gangnam Style” – La Jornada (Bolivia)

The South Korean singer Psy author of the viral hit “Gangnam Style” that holds the absolute record of visits in Youtube, will present later this year its first studio album in five years, the production of the artist in Seoul said.

YG Entertainment said the rapper 37 is “in the final stage” of the production of their next job and submit it before end 2015, according to statements by the director, Yang Hyun-seok, a local agency Yonhap.

Yang did not disclose specific details such as the title or the approximate date that could present the new album, with the same producer of “Gangnam Style”. The last studio album Psy, entitled “Psyfive” which sold 25,400 copies, dating from 2010, two years before present the single whose viral video that catapulted him to success. The director of YG also stated that Psy is overcoming the strong pressure to which I was subjected from the success in 2012, that made him go from obscurity to become a mass phenomenon worldwide. The South Korean singer acknowledged last year have been subjected to this pressure, so he canceled his plan to publish a new single titled “Daddy” and announced he would try to regain his previous style of “Gangnam Style”, when he was an artist of second level in South Korea. It was expected that the new album Psy went on sale last month, but was delayed for unknown reasons. Psy, whose real name is Park Jae-sang, is considered an idol in his country for having triumphed on the international stage to ensure that “Gangnam Style” is until today the most watched video of Youtube portal with over 2.400 million Plays. After the 2012 bombing of the South Korean has released another video as “Gentleman” or “Hangover” with the American rapper Snoop Dogg, achieving moderate success compared to “Gangnam Style”.
