Henning Mankell (Stockholm, February 3, 1948) has died at age 67, victim of lung cancer that documented in his latest book ‘Quicksand’.
The Swedish pioneer writer and patriarch of the Scandinavian crime novel, was born into a bourgeois family. He wrote for theater, television and film. Created the inspector Walllander, who starred in 12 black novels.
Married to the daughter of Ingmar Bergman , Mankell’s works carry the influence of the legendary couple of writers and 70 Maj Sjöwall Per Wahlöö and his travels in Africa, Latin America and East póximo.
