Fear of new author of “Millenium” [VIDEO] – Trade

(AFP). The Swedish David Lagercrantz confessed to writing the fourth installment of the series of detective novels “Millennium” , which goes on sale eleven years after his death creator, a “manic-depressive” state.

On the eve of its launch in 25 countries, under the watchful eye of the editor Eva Gedin, Lagercrantz confessed to thirty foreign journalists fear he felt to continue the work of Stieg Larsson.

“I was terrified (…) I said long ago that was bipolar, in a dormant state, and I think that was a good thing to write” this novel, said the author, who continued the story the journalist Mikael Blomkvist and computer hacker Lisbeth Salander, interrupted after Larsson’s death.

“It was not the easiest person to live because I was thinking about it all the time. I had all day fear of not living up” she admitted the writer, visibly anxious about what will be the reception of the work.

Larsson, author of the series, died suddenly of a heart attack in 2004 at age 50, without enjoying the success of his novel, which became a global phenomenon sales, with nearly 80 million copies sold. His work also inspired two film adaptations, one in Sweden and one in Hollywood.

On a stage decorated for the occasion, Lagercrantz evoked the great “love” you have to work.

“I dream to be Mikael Blomkvist. It is a nice guy with good values,” said the author.

In the first row, Erland Larsson, father of the late writer, attended the launch conference, alternating serious faces with eyes that showed the interest that generated the project.

He and his son Joakim Larsson were the official heirs of the deceased author, while his partner, Eva Gabrielsson, who lived for 32 years, was relegated and accused of having made a bad management of its succession.

A couple of months, Gabrielsson, who never reached an agreement with the Larsson family, it disagreed with the whole business that generated “Millennium” .

“One says that heroes must be alive, but this is nonsense, because in fact it is an issue of money. There is a publishing house that needs money and a writer who does not have anything to write, save a copy of which others do, “he said in an interview with AFP.

MYSTERY FOR RELEASE

According to the heirs, the fact that very few people have been allowed to read the book before its release, is very good.

“I kept on my nightstand a week before opening it. I was scared. Once I started reading, it was impossible to stop,” he told AFP Joakim.

For the Norstedts Publishing, David Lagercrantz , specializing in sport known for being the author of the biography of the football player Zlatan Ibrahimovic was the perfect candidate to write the novel.

“This was the great passion of my life and now you can judge whether I succeeded or not, but God knows I gave my maximum,” he added.

Despite all the mystery surrounding the launch of the work Wednesday kiosk station Stockholm took a copy for sale before the publisher called to him out of the shelves.

“was only on sale for five minutes and it seems that was only sold one copy”

he told AFP spokeswoman Norstedts, Jessica Bab Bonde. Around the world already they have been printed 2.7 million copies, 500,000 of which are destined for the US market. Altogether 41 publishing houses has bought the rights.
