surprisingly, the Swedish Academy decided to award for the first time to a musician that only has one published novel (Tarantula) but with multiple songs that have become hymns.

The singer-songwriter Bob Dylan was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature for having created new poetic expressions within the great tradition of american song.

"Dylan has the status of an icon. His influence on contemporary music is profound," said the Swedish Academy.

Sara Daniues, of the academy, said that Dylan is a great poet in the tradition of the English language. "He has continued to act and re-inventing itself, creating a new identity".

he Stressed that the singer interpreted his poetry in the form of songs as did the ancient greeks who used to accompany his works with music. "Bob Dylan writes poetry for the ear. But it is perfectly okay to read his works as poetry."

But beyond the media coup that represents the decision to the Swedish Academy, without a doubt, a landmark judgement, there were some criticisms, mainly in the literary milieu.

"Frankly, unfair. A frivolity. Will do everything for not to award Milan Kundera, as not awarded to Borges. No, No. The next year, awards will be given to Charlie Brown. It is an insult to literature", said Sabina Berman.

While the editor and writer Martin Solares stated: "the First time that we will not hear a speech, but a concert of reception of the Nobel peace prize".

these criticisms were joined by the writer Santiago Roncagliolo: "A journalist a year, a singer the other. I don’t know if the novel has died, but has left to win Nobel prizes".

And the author, Alberto Chimal said, "it is a choice is not conventional, as the Svetlana Alexievich. I’m a little surprised."

The writer Margo Glantz said, "give him the Nobel peace prize to Dylan is a political act in this moment and recognizes that in the literature, governing conservatism".

But the criticism is trumped to the thousands of congratulations that he received Robert Allen Zimmerman in all over the world.

Multiple personalities applauded the decision, including president Barack Obama, and joined by politicians, musicians, and his great legion of fans in the world.

"Congratulations Bob" wrote Enrique Bunbury; while Lin Manuel Miranda, creator of the hit musical Hamilton at Broadway said: "Novelists complaining about the award to Dylan, they look very bad."

The singer-songwriter Ana Tijoux celebrated the decision. "Beautiful news. Fellow musicians and lyricists, a news story revealing to our business.

The daughter of Johnny Cash, Rosanne said surprised. "Holy mother of God. Bob Dylan won the Nobel prize".

"His poetry and melody changed to the society. Is the greatest poet alive," said Mick Hucknall, frontman of Simply Red.

In Mexico, Cecilia Toussaint exclaimed: "of Course you deserve it, is a great poet. Another one that should receive an award is Jaime Lopez, a great mexican writer".

"I find it amazing and wonderful. Bob Dylan is one of the best lyricists in the world," said Fato, a renowned mexican composer.

"The lyricists and composers are poets. Today the Nobel Prize in Literature will do justice in the person of Bob Dylan," said Roberto Cantoral Zucchi, director-general of the Society of Authors and Composers of Mexico.

in Addition, Armando Manzanero, one of the composers most talented in the country opined: "The literary value of the popular composition was recognized with the highest award of the orb. Congratulations to Dylan."

One of the great prizes to win a Nobel is that readers from around the world look to the author and their books (known and unknown) to fill the bookstores and become a sales success; however, on this occasion, the eyes and ears will be sent to such songs as "Blowin' in the Wind", "The Times They are A-Changin'" and his extensive discography or publication of compilations of their letters.

editorial Planeta, co-published with the Global Rhythm, is already preparing a re-edition in Mexico Tarantula, the only novel of Dylan, written between 1965 and 1966, where it makes a journey about your life, and that for years was circulated in a clandestine manner in the form of photocopies.

The Swedish Academy noted that, Dylan published a collection of his writings and drawings in 1971, and in 2004 he launched a chronic autobiographical.

"As an artist has been highly versatile and has worked as a painter, actor and author of screenplays".

Bob Dylan will receive the next December 10 in Stockholm the prize, which consists of a gold medal and a check for more than 970,000 dollars. Do you read a solemn speech, or perform a concert with his harmonica?

The novel of your life

it Has an Oscar, the Prince of Asturias of the Arts 2007 and the Pulitzer Prize in 2008.

The only novel in her life is called Tarantula and Mexico edited Editorial Ocean and Global Rhythm, and was written between 1965 and 1966; she makes a journey through many stages of his life, revealing aspects such as the way in which he captivated the girls, their way of sleeping, bathing, the characters recognized during their travels, the places and themes that have always obsessed, your fear by feeling persecuted by the government of his country, your problem with the drugs, the way to create new rock songs and more personal topics.
