The Swedish Academy has renounced to communicate directly to the american Bob Dylan, which has been distinguished with the Nobel prize of Literature this year, after four days trying to contact him without success.

So confessed today to the radio station public Radio of Sweden Sara Danius, the permanent secretary of this institution that chooses each year to the winner of the Nobel peace prize in that category.

The representatives of the Swedish Academy have spoken with the agent of the musician and with other people in your environment, but have not been able to talk with Dylan, who has not made any public statement, nor has she made comments about it in the concerts that have been given in the past few days.

Danius said not to be worried despite the fact that still it is not known whether the musician will accept the award or go to Stockholm to pick it up the next December 10.

“I have a feeling that Bob Dylan can come. I could be wrong, and of course, it would be a shame not to come down here, but in any case the distinction is yours and we cannot be responsible for what happens now. If you do not want to come, not come, will be a great feast like,” said Danius.

Only two people have declined the Nobel prize for Literature, in more than a century of history: the Russian writer Boris Pasternak, in 1958, forced by the soviet authorities, although he accepted it later; and the French Jean Paul Sartre, in 1964, by its policy of refusing any kind of distinction.

The Swedish Academy today praised Dylan for having created a “new poetic expressions within the great tradition of american song”, according to the ruling released last Thursday.

The surprise election marked the first time that it is distinguished with the Nobel prize for Literature, a singer-songwriter. EFE
