Dies at age 77 Jerry Weintraub, successful film producer and … – Metro

The successful American film and music producer Jerry Weintraub died today at age 77 at his home in Palms Springs (California, USA) for reasons still unknown, the entertainment website TMZ reported.

In this environment, the health of New York producer had recently suffered, but have not disclosed details about the reasons for his death.

Before landing in the film world, Weintraub was a producer of big names in music like Frank Sinatra, Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, Dolly Parton, The Beach Boys, The Pointer Sisters, Elvis Presley and John Denver.

Among the most emblematic films produced highlights “The Karate Kid” trilogy, “Ocean” on spectacular robberies in hotels in Las Vegas and “Vegas Vacation”.

Currently he is working on the new film “Tarzan”, which is scheduled for next year.

The producer won three Emmy awards throughout his career, most recently for the film “Behind the Candelabra” with Michael Douglas and Matt Damon.
