Vince Vaughn will change from “True Detective” to be under the command of Mel Gibson – ABC Color

LOS ANGELES. The popular American comedian Vince Vaughn, who recently surprised with his dramatic turn in the HBO series “True Detective”, resume the path in the new project as director Mel Gibson, entitled “Hacksaw Ridge”.

The film, released today by the specialized blog Deadline, will revolve around the figure of Desmond Doss , the first US conscientious objector awarded the Medal of Honor, the highest military honor.

In this way, Vaughn joins a cast led by Andrew Garfield and Sam Worthington . Production will begin soon in Australia. Doss Garfield will play in a story that takes place during World War II and focuses on a group of soldiers of Infantry in South Carolina as they prepare to fight in the Battle of Okinawa (Japan).

Vaughn Howell will play the demanding sergeant, charged that his men are ready for the mission forcing them to go beyond their physical and mental limits. The film, co-written by Robert Schenkkan and Randall Wallace (author of Braveheart ), will be produced by Bill Mechanic and David r . It is the fifth film as director to Gibson, previously the author of The Man Without a Face , Braveheart , The Passion and Apocalypto .
