Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett, intimate rendezvous with little chemical in Cap Roig – Metro

No appointments always go as expected, much as the surroundings are idyllic and unbeatable setting. This is what happened to Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett at the Festival de Cap Roig, where they have acted most of the time separately and are not just found in the duets.

The show began with a recording of Frank Sinatra giving way to Bennet, whom the reign of the crooners took place for much of the twentieth century.

Then Lady Gaga appeared wearing a long, bright pink dress, but the dress has lasted a short time because it has been changed costume eight times during the concert.

Han started with “Anything goes” and continued with “Cheek to Cheek”, the song that gives name to the whole album and the two New Yorkers who shot to fame in 1935 with Fred Astaire in their interpretation the film “Top Hat”.

Despite a good start, frequent changes in appearance of the pop diva has caused Bennet stays alone on stage, and his octogenarian voice betrayed him at some time or another.

Neither Lady Gaga has had his best day with the pitch, but has amply supplied with his charisma and uninhibited comments to the public, which has erupted into applause more than once.

Even he dedicated a few words of thanks to their parents, especially his mother, birthday today and has accompanied his daughter to Cap Roig to celebrate the anniversary toasting with her.

The staging was austere, with a bare stage where artists have been accompanied only by the band and their instruments.

In total, they have acted with pianists including nine-two musicians, two cellists, one guitar, two batteries and two trompetistas- that have delighted the audience with blues and jazz solos that transported directly to the middle the twentieth century.

Among the repertoire of the night have featured topics such as “Sing your sinners”, “bang bang”, “I will not dance”, “San Francisco” and “It do not mean a thing” , which closed the concert.

One of the highlights of the show has arrived in Ecuador, when Lady Gaga has appeared solo in a pink dress gum and has sung the success of Edith Piaf “La Vie en Rose”.

However, the public does not quite have desperezado and dozens of spectators have left their villages before the end of the concert.

An audience that is far from the usual concert pop diva, used to dealing with hysterical masses and cluttering up the larger enclosure.

Today, among the spectators they have not seen tearful faces or faces with Lady Gaga’s name written on their foreheads, just a couple of posters with messages of admiration that the authors had shyly.

The rest of the 2,118 participants who have completed the capacity of Cap Roig, which included the President of the Generalitat, Artur Mas, wore a much more formal wear, in line with the image of the festival.
