Bob Dylan lives up to its legendary status – Milenio.com

The magnetism and talent of Bob Dylan caught the intergenerational audience gathered in the gardens of Pedralbes in Barcelona, where Minnesota has offered a concert without concessions to nostalgia, during which has focused on their compositions last decade.

Although many of these paid between 70 and 185 euros attracted by the opportunity to see up close the legendary author of “Like a Rolling Stone” and listen to live their generational anthems, the troubadour has not been influenced by the presumed expectations of your audience and has locked up the best-known songs of the past to focus on the present.

A present full of great songs that sound like blues, to rock to country and, above all, to himself, who with 50 years on stage and 36 studio albums and has had time to demonstrate amply that is among the greatest of all time.

At 74 years old, Robert Allen Zimmerman has been presented to the public select the Garden Festival of Pedralbes in better shape than when he visited Barcelona for the last time five years ago.

It has come to scene with a white wide-brimmed white hat and a clear plan, and has been at the center of the stage, standing, surrounded by five magnificent musicians who accompany him.

Little talkative, Dylan has neither good night, but he managed to connect with the present through his very personal raspy voice and his mastery as a composer and performer.

The first theme was “Things Have Changed”, a beautiful song he wrote 2000 for the film “Wonder Boys” and sang almost without moving.

Then came the turn of “She belongs to me,” one of the few classics of the golden age that was included in the repertoire tonight.

In this song, Bob Dylan has sounded his harmonica, and with it has come the magic of the beautiful outdoor setting of the Pedralbes Gardens.

Despite that supposedly Dylan is touring to present his album “Shadows in the Night” (2015), has only played two songs on this album: Frank Sinatra versions of “Full Moon and Empty Arms” and “leaves Autumm” the latter original Yves Montand.

The bulk of the repertoire songs have formed “Tempest” (2012), the last studio album of unreleased material, which have played half of its cuts.

With a steady pace, the American bard has shelled his repertoire throughout a concert of just over an hour and a half, during which addressed the public only once to say “come back soon” just before leaving the stage 20 minutes, for intermission.

During the second part, the legendary troubadour has alternated his voice broken with harmonica and piano, and has been more relaxed, even to walk gracefully across the stage and make some subtle body movement.

But the peak reached in the encore with “Blowing in the wind”, the only concession to nostalgia that made and, in fact, it can not be considered as such because the recreation of the issue that has offered nothing to do with the song that played the very young Dylan as a partner of Joan Baez.

The concert finished with the public standing and Bob Dylan leave with the head of a public who knew Dylan’s past and today has experienced its present.
