The English Helen Marten wins the Turner by his experimentation with materials – Terra Peru

The painter and sculptor English Helen Marten, 31 years old, today received the coveted Turner prize for contemporary art, endowed with 25,000 pounds (about 29.500 euros), in recognition of his experimentation with new materials and everyday objects.

In a ceremony at the Tate Britain in London, the jury praised the “qualities of poetic and enigmatic,” a play that invites the audience to “consider elements family as if it were seen for the first time”.

Turner, whose goal is to “promote public debate” about artistic expression, it is awarded since 1984 to an artist under 50 years living in the Uk for a project submitted during the previous twelve months.
