U2 unfolds its full power before a devoted audience in Barcelona – Terra Colombia

The strength of the latest album of the band and their greatest hits, a stunning visual montage and the ability to connect Bono, captivated the public who witnessed today, fully delivered, the U2 concert at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona (northeast), the first in Spain of the current tour.

The four Dublin alternated masterfully emotional moments, to claim the rock and entertainment, over two hours, at the first concert of the four that offer the Irish in Barcelona unique Spanish scale world tour that began last May in Canada.

“Bona nit Barcelona an almighty Bono said. We like Barcelona is a city that loves art and artists. We like it so much we stayed a week.”

“But for now, we are going to bring the North Dublin where we grew up and where there is an important part of us,” added the singer, before starting a batch of very autobiographical songs from his latest album .

A few words in English that the band had the detail of subtitling in Castilian in the shade of huge video screens located between the main stage and the secondary.

The concert began shortly before with “The Miracle”, “Electric Co.”, “Vertigo” and “I Will Follow”, a discharge of pure rock with which the Irish brought the public pocket.

After this combination of songs composed in the distant eighties with songs fresh from the oven, it was time for the trip to the innocence of speaking the title of his latest album “Songs of Innocence”.

On the screens were images of Bono’s mother when he sang “Iris”, a song that bears his name, and the streets where born U2 frontman showed up with the first chords of “Cedarwood Road “.

Projections redoubled its effect when the image recorded live Bono, located at the gateway between the two scenarios, he entered screens, with his mother or walking down the street of his childhood.

An effect that multiplied the emotion of the moment. “The world went cold and dark when my mother died. I became a musician to thank you for everything you gave me. I dedicate this song to all the mothers,” he said.

The end of innocence is quickly precipitated a number of issues related to the conflict in Ireland, which began with “Sunday Bloody Sunday”.

At this point emerged for the first time the group related causes, which reappeared in the second half of the concert, with references to the refugee crisis, wars and immigrants died in the Mediterranean .

But the gray and hopeless atmosphere spread over the Palau Sant Jordi for the interpretation of “Bullet the Blue Sky” was only one of many moods through which passed the show and viewers .

There was everything: moments for communication with the public, such as when a young Venezuelan rose to dance with Bono “Mysterious Ways”; intimate moments, such as “October” played the piano; and moments of euphoria, as if all the Palau Sant Jordi choir sang “Where the Streets Have No Name”, “Pride” or “With or Without You”.

“Sou fantàstic, Màgics sou, sou genials” Bono shouted in Catalan, before facing the bis, with “City of Blinding Lights” and “Beatiful Day”.

A few hopeful words of Bono on Europe’s ability to solve the problem of refugees and science to cure AIDS allowed to finish the concert with the audience singing “One” and a smile on his mouth.
