33 young talents and four self-managed spaces will be part of ArtBo 2015 Corferias – Radio Santa Fe

Corferias From 1 to 4 October as part of ARTBO, International Art Fair of Bogota, program of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogota, the section will feature Artecámara participation of 33 young artists without commercial representation and four self-managed spaces for artists in the exhibition Nothing will be as before, he continues to shine.

The Artecámara program, which has been consolidated in the Colombian scene as space for young artists longest running and strength, will this year with the Curated by Mariangela Mendez.

Former Director artistic Hall 43 (inter) National Artists, member of the advisory committee Illy SustainArt Observatory and the Technical Committee of Medellín Museum of Modern Art, Mariangela Mendez selected 33 works by artists from throughout the country under 40 years and no commercial representation, who participated in the call made by the Chamber of Commerce of Bogota in mid of the year.

Thus, under the title Nothing will be as before, it continues to shine … Mendez chose works of a generation of artists who share their thoughts on the tensions between the analog past and the digital present.

In the words of the curator, “This exhibition is a kind of constellation drawn on the black square which he has painted this generation. ” The selected projects are grouped under a search for points of contact and tension of opposites that contrast the nostalgia of the past with the language of the future.

Artecámara continues to professionalize their bets, spread and internationalize the work of promising young Colombian art, and visualize the different agents that make up the art scene in the city, meeting the objectives of the Chamber of Commerce Bogota (CCB) and ARTBO.

It is for this reason that alongside the 33 young talents, Artecámara will make room for self-managed spaces for artists, while maintaining the goal of ARTBO to embrace and integrate all manifestations of contemporary art.

This year four were selected Fortnight, Patch, The Liars All-Stars and Matera Magazine.

This type of involvement allows us to account the dynamics of each project and the way in which self-managed work spaces in the city, and join one of the novelties of ARTBO 2015 is to generate consistent actions within the program that become a dynamic fair and always changing.

To promote the strengthening of emerging artists, this is the third consecutive year that the Prodigy / Scholarship Award FLORA is delivered, support W and El Tiempo, the best artist of Artecámara .
