Led Zeppelin wins lawsuit over alleged plagiarism of ‘Stairway to Heaven’ – Newscasts Televisa

LOS ANGELES, United Kingdom, jun. 23, 2016.- Led Zeppelin won the trial in the United States about an alleged plagiarism of “Stairway to Heaven”, his most famous song, after a jury ruled in favor of the famous British rock group, local media reported.


the decision was taken unanimously by the group of eight men and women who made up the jury in a court in Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Times said.

led Zeppelin was accused of the famous introduction guitar song, published in 1971, was copied directly from the instrumental song “Taurus”, created by the Spirit band in 1968.

The lawyers of Led Zeppelin defended on Monday that the applicants had failed to show evidence of the alleged illegal copy of the issue .

they argued, among other things, that the applicants have failed to demonstrate the similarities between the two songs, or Led Zeppelin hear “Taurus” before writing his legendary song.

Page himself rejected the accusations of plagiarism and said he had not heard the song Spirit until a few years ago.
