Spain: an earthquake with its epicenter was recorded in Albacete – Venezolana de Television

Caracas, January 23, 2015 .- An earthquake with its epicenter in Albacete has rocked the center of Spain. The earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale has been noticed in several provinces, as confirmed in the National Geographic Institute.

The earthquake occurred at 16:16 GMT (17:16, according local time). According to El Pais, quoting provisional data Seismic Central Europe and the Mediterranean, the epicenter is located in Ossa de Montiel, Albacete, and about 14 kilometers deep. According to the National Geographic Institute, this depth is “very superficial”.

The quake has been noticed in several regions of central Spain for a few seconds was observed in Madrid. The incident also has been noticed in Valencia, Murcia and Castilla-La Mancha.

So far, it is unknown whether there was substantial damage or casualties. / JF
