Madonna falls during presentation at the Brit Awards – El Universal (Venezuela)

London .- Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and Taylor Swift were rewarded Wednesday in London in the 35th edition of the Brit Awards, the British pop music awards, that will be remembered for the dramatic drop in the stage of Madonna.

It was one of the most anticipated of the night and Madonna entrees, which 20 years ago was not the Brits, not disappointed. The queen of pop, who closed the ceremony, fell backwards when climbing stairs to enter the stage amid dancers, dragged by his long black coat. But they got up and followed her choreography undeterred, said AFP.

“The queen of pop has shown us what it means to ‘the show must go on (the show goes on). Respect,” tweeted Quickly Brits Awards.

While the video of the incident became viral on social networks, Madonna explained at the end of the evening that his coat was “too close”.

” I’m fine, “he said on Facebook, thanking the fans who cared for her.

Side of the winners, the British pop-folk artist Ed Sheeran won the award for best singer and best British and US album Taylor Swift with the award for best international female artist.

Sam Smith, who was a favorite with five nominations, also won two trophies, the success of the year (Brits Global Success) and the artist revelation.

“I was a little worried about this album. It took time to do it,” said onstage Ed Sheeran, who was glad of this “very good year”.
