Compasses waltz, champagne, confetti and applause were cited today in the Musikverein in Vienna to give an elegant musical start in 2015 with the 75th New Year’s Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic conducted by Zubin Mehta the Indian master (Bombay, 1936 ), who received a warm ovation when he rose for the fifth time the Viennese stage and began with the traditional gesture excited recital.
